Yesterday I tried this game with the Anniversary Edition. I played a couple of minutes -- as shown in video below -- and it worked like a charm.

1. Prerequisites (winetricks)

As quoted from http://wiki.oni2.net/Anniversary_Edition AE Installer requires .NET 2 SP2 Framework. We just need to install .NET 2 SP2 framework. I didn't tried to install/play this game without installing .NET 2 SP2 Framework. So let's install it

• Check that your winetricks version is up to date

  git clone https://github.com/Winetricks/winetricks.git
  cd winetricks/src/winetricks
  chmod +x winetricks

• Install .NET 2 SP2 framework

  winetricks -q dotnet20sp2

Install ONI + Anniversary Edition

• Download the original ONI PC iso from http://theisozone.com/downloads/pc/windows-games/oni-2/
• Mount the iso file

  sudo mount -o loop /path/to/Oni.PC.Game.iso /some/path/to/mount/this/iso

• Install the game

  cd /some/path/to/mount/this/iso
  wine ONISETUP.EXE

• While installing you will prompted to install old drivers and to register. I just clicked on 'NO' button for the 2 questions
• Download the Anniversary Installer from http://mods.oni2.net/node/79
• Install Anniversary Edition

  wine Anniversary-Edition-Setup-v1.2.exe

As of 01-Dec-2015 current repo for Wine/Gallium-Nine is still available for wine-1.7.55. A couple weeks ago I took decision to merge to new feature added byt iXit Team - the Staging Tab - to latest wine-staging sources. Moreoever there are currently two known patches that I added for Steam

my New Winecfg for Wine 1.7.55 and over: Checkbox for Gallium-Nine added to "Original Staging" Tab

Back to one of my favorite games Darksiders II. It is pretty nice to see that this game works great with Gallium Nine

As prerequisites I had to install vcrun2010 and d3dcompiler_43. That's all
